'Maycember' became an escape from a chaotic and overwhelming end-of-school period we lived through in 2024. 'Maycember" was created using layers of acrylic colors, erratic brushstrokes and scattered shapes to effectively convey the feeling of social drowning, chaos and unending exhaustion.
The responsibilities and demands that kept piling up for our family of 9 are depicted from the many shapes and textures seen throughout the work. Behind the chaos and intensity there is structure and attempted organization. Alas, there is a beautiful glowing 'light at the end of the tunnel' that became the well deserved break of summer.
