'In the Quiet Night" was created to convey the thoughts of a mother when her world is finally silent. The overall impression is one of tranquility and introspection, reflecting the quiet and profound nature of a mothers inner world as she contemplates her thoughts and feelings. Noise and the chaos of the day dissipates while her worries and thoughts and reflections start to creep in. 'In the Quiet Night" features a serene and dreamlike abstract composition dominated by a calming blue background. Swirling organic forms in shades of pale green, white and light blue suggest the clouds and wisps of thought.  Scattered throughout the blue are several deep maroon elements, or hearts in my mind which can be interpreted as our children, in the midst of it all.
